Updates from Mrs. Day:

6th Grade:

Students have been doing an excellent job of learning about:

  • Part to Whole and Part to Part Ratios
  • Equivalent Ratios
  • Tape Diagrams
  • Ratio Tables
  • Reducing Ratios to simplest form

To have some fun with what we are learning we explored ratios of things we could find around our building, scaling up/down our first names, and some Skittle and M&M's ratios. 

The students will be learning about Ratios on a quadrant, reviewing the unit, and taking a test on Friday, October 6th.

 

7th Grade:

Students have been learning and review a variety of things including:

  • Unit Rate
  • One Step Equations
  • Adding, Subtracting, Multiplying and Dividing Integers
  • Classifying numbers (Ration vs Irrational)
  • Setting up and solving word problems

The students will be having a unit test on Friday, October 6th which will include the above items

 

8th Grade:

Students have just taken their first test of the year on Exponents and Scientific Notation.  The unit was tough, but each student did very well. 

The upcoming unit will include:

  • Two step equations
  • Fraction busters
  • Inequalities
  • Graphing Inequalities

There will be multiple assignments for practice, three quizzes, and two tests
